Valentine's Day!!

Well, the last days of our Valentine adventure have come to an end.  I'm not going to lie, I'm going to miss those cute little presents my hubby gave me.  It was really fun thinking of ideas and things to get him as well.  This morning I made my hubby breakfast in bed. :)  Then I was able to hang out with my adorable nephew for a little bit this afternoon and then I made dinner for tonight.  I found this amazing recipe.  It's chicken leg quarters roasted with lemon, garlic, and herbs.  It was mighty tasty!  I also tried another recipe called oven-baked garlic Parmesan fries.  I was a little apprehensive, but they turned out delicious!
Overall, it was a pretty great day.  I got some beautiful flowers from my ever-thoughtful hubby and I also was able to spend the whole day with him!  I really couldn't ask for more.  I feel so blessed.  I hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day!

Day 3 - Day 7

I know I haven't kept up everyday, but there's only so much to say about little gifts that my hubby and I exchange. :)  The best of the past few days was when my hubby took me to my favorite pizza place, "Pudgies".  I just adore that place and even though it isn't his favorite place he knows I love it!!  Other than that we have just been exchanging little candies here and there.  Oh, I almost forgot.  My hubby also wrote me an adorable poem.  It was pretty deep.  I didn't even know he could write like that!  I'm so proud of him.  He's the best!

Day 2 of our "love" adventure :)  Today was MY day.  I found some really saying to go with some sweets I got my sweetie.  It's cheesy and corny and just like we were dating again.  Not sure what tomorrow will bring, but I don't have time to think about that!  Tomorrow's the super bowl which means I have so much to do!  Family and friends are coming over and I need to make lots of yummy food :)  I'm making crock pot lasagna tomorrow for church dinner.  Then tomorrow night I'm making buffalo chicken dip....Yum!!  Not sure what else, but we'll see.  Either way it will be fun!  So, anyways, back to the 14 Days of Valentine's here is a pic of what I did for my hubby.

Friday, February 1, 2013

Well, today's the first day of our 14 Days of Valentine's! My hubby started it off with a very sweet gift. He got me an adorable rose in a vase that opens at the touch of a button. When it opens the petals say "always" and the middle reads "I love you". :) Really cute, huh? It was a great start to the 14 days and I'm excited to give him his gift tomorrow. Haven't decided on what exactly that will be yet, but I better get started!

14 Days of Valentine's Day

So, I found this great idea on Pinterest about this couple who did the 14 days of Valentine's Day kind of like the 14 days of Christmas.  Well, each day the couple does something for their husband/wife.  My hubby and I decided to start and do days alternately. Since February 1st is the first day of our 14 days, I'm getting so excited! :)  I'm hoping to be able to post what we do for each other each day.  God's blessed me with such an amazing hubby and I can't wait for these few days to show him, a little extra, how much he really means to me.

Kitchen Up-do

Well, my husband and I just recently moved into our own place a couple months ago.  I've been trying to find ways to add some "color" to our little home, while trying to save money too.  My kitchen walls are so bare and my husband kept saying we needed some pictures.  I decided to do some internet surfing and I found some awesome printables. The first one I made on this website.  It is a word picture that you can type in any words you want and then the computer rearranges them and gives them different fonts.  You can find the link here.
I also found another printable on Pinterest and I think it fits my house very well.  Dirty dishes certainly seem to just pile up! I found a really neat blog who had a printable.  All I had to do after I printed them out onto scrapbooking paper was to put them into frames.  I added a little border onto the word picture and ta-da!  I was pretty proud of the outcome :)

Belated Heart's Day

I know its a month after Valentine's Day, but I just wanted to share some of the goodness that came on account of this wonderful day.  I know there are so many people who hate Valentine's day, but I absolutely love it!  I love getting flowers and since this day is all about flowers, what's not to love!!!  My wonderful husband bought me beautiful red roses and a box of chocolate.  He's such a sweetheart.
I also spent a lot of time in the kitchen and made some wonderful sweets.  I made several dozen sugar cookies and sent them to friends in college.  I love decorating and so I spent several hours working on cookies and making them look good enough to eat :)  I found an amazing recipe for sugar cookies that is just divine.  They make a great chewy cookie.  I just made butter cream frosting and used almond extract instead of vanilla and it was a perfect combination.  I also made chocolate heart molds and put them on a stick.  It was fun putting a bunch of sweets in boxes and sending them off to my friends.  Here's some pics of what I made!
